1. Bring Ayran, cinnamon and sugar to the boil in a saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in couscous. Depending on the package specification, allow to soak for 5-10 minutes until the liquid has been absorbed. Stir occasionally. Meanwhile peel the pears, remove the pips and cut them into slices of approximately 0.5 cm thick.
2. Preheat the oven to 180 °C (convection). Grease a casserole dish with butter and add the soaked couscous. Place the pear slices on top in a tile shape.
3. Dab the halloumi dry with a paper towel, cut into thin strips and spread out onto the pears. Serve with sugar and cinnamon and bake in the oven for about 30 minutes. Serve hot.
TIP: Plums are also good for this dessert. If you like a more exotic touch, you can use coconut milk instead of Ayran.
